Zanzibar Stone Town
It is a unique place. The intriguing history tells us about brave sea
traders, explorers, Sultans and the fragrance of exotic spices. The
exceptional architecture and construction of the coral stone buildings
and narrow streets carries the imprints of the influences of various
cultures and traditions brought in by the Stone Town inhabitants. Each
building; its windows, its carved doors, its walls tells its own historical
past. In the year 2000, Zanzibar Stone Town got inscribed on the UNESCO
World Heritage List. Following this, some committed citizens and well-wishers
interested in conserving and preserving Stone Town, decided to form
a non-governmental organization. The Zanzibar Stone Town Heritage Society
was officially registered in June 2002. Currently, the Society has
a membership of over 100 members, and works with communities within
Stone Town in preserving its heritage and culture

Spice Tour (Half day, morning or afternoon)
Without a guide, you will never find nutmeg sitting on the forest floor
or think to peel the bark off a cinnamon tree, but these are some of
the fun things to do on a spice tour. Your guide will walk you through
the plantations, pointing out an amazing array of plants and trees,
and give you samples of spices to smell or even taste. Most likely,
he will also hand you a green coconut to drink from. Don't expect a
Pina Colada, though, because green coconuts don't have sweet milk –
it's more like subtly flavoured water and the meat is delicious. Along
the tour there is a kiosk where you can buy scented oils and packaged
spices, such as vanilla beans, masala, hot chillies, black pepper,
cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon, ginger and others.
All transfers guide and admissions included.
Kizimkazi Dolphins Safaris (Half day)
At your convenience you will be driven to Kizimkazi, located in the south-western

and spinner dolphins. Snorkelling is optional, but the area is superb.

overlooking the sea, offering breathtaking scenery.

Colobus monkeys, which are indigenous to the island.

Prison Island Tour
Feed a turtle. When you get enough of the hustle and bustle of Stone
Town, why not take a boat out to one of the smaller islands? Prison
Island (also known as Changuu Island) is about a 30-minute boat ride
West of Stone Town. The name comes from a time when the Sultans kept
rebellious slaves there. Now it is home to a happy bunch of land turtles
that you can visit. On your way to the island, you can also jump in
the water and have a look at the corals that surround it.
