Manyara provides the perfect introduction to Tanzania’s birdlife. More than 400 species have been recorded, and even a first-time visitor to Africa might reasonably expect to observe 100 of these in one day. Highlights include thousands of pink-hued flamingos on their perpetual migration, as well as other large water birds such as pelicans, cormorants and storks.  Despite the relatively small size of the park, there is a large variety of landscapes and there are many different types of wildlife. These themes appear in both the exterior features of the hotel and in the room décor, where softly flowing fabrics, muted colours and organic themes prevail. Jon has also called upon the skills of numerous local artists to create the stunning carved panels, mosaic pillars, beaten copper fretwork, sensational traditional jewellery, beaded wall hangings and hand-carved ‘bambara birds’, which bedeck the communal areas. They include: Yoni Waite (mosaic art), Expedito Wakibulla (wood carving) and Julius Mutungi (rock sculpture). The oasis of Sesse pool terrace Featuring a 7-meter waterfall, which cascades down a hand-sculptured stone cliff, into a shimmering plunge pool below, the sun-drenched pool terrace offers a magnificent swimming pool, a water park, a children’s pool, a pool bar, a bandstand and a multitude of poolside cocktail option.  Boasting 17 acres of gorgeous grounds which provide shelter for a wide selection of indigenous trees; and protection for a beautiful array of flowers, birds and butterflies, the hotel’s extensive grounds will provide a haven of calm in the centre of Uganda’s most cosmopolitan city.

Kibale National Park
The most accessible of Uganda's major rainforests, Kibale is home to a remarkable 13 primate species, including the very localized red Colobus and L'Hoest's monkey.  Kibale's major attraction, however, is the opportunity to track habituated chimps - these delightful apes, more closely related to humans than to any other living creature, are tremendous fun to watch as they squabble and play in fruiting trees.  A network of shady forest trails provides much to delight botanists and butterfly lovers, while birders are in for a treat with 335 species recorded including the endemic Prirogrine's ground thrush.  The elusive forest elephant, smaller and hairier than its savannah counterpart, moves seasonally into the developed part of the park, while other terrestrial mammals include buffalo, giant forest hog and a half dozen antelope species.
Day 15: Kibale National Park to  Queen Elizabeth National Park
After early breakfast, report at Kanyanchu Tourist Centre where tourist activities begin and set out to track chimpanzee in the forest. Chances of viewing the chimps are over 90% but not a guarantee. Tracking the chimpanzee that is our 'cousin' is a very interesting experience. The way they feed, climb trees, respond to humans, caring for their young ones, is just phenomenal.  Be part of the drama of life in a rain forest that can be observed in the Kibale National Park. This park is notable for its primate population, with the chimpanzees being the most famous. That's not all, you can also be part of the habituation team that goes in the morning to study the behaviour of this primate in order to make them get used to human beings.
Queen Elizabeth National Park
From open savannah to rainforest, from dense papyrus swamps and brooding crater lakes to the vastness of Lake Edward, it is little wonder that QENP boasts one of the highest biodiversity ratings of any game reserve in the world. Almost 100 mammal species and a remarkable 606 bird species makes this superb safari territory, with elephant, a profusion of hippos, the elusive giant forest hog and handsome Uganda kob all regularly sighted around the tourist village on the Mweya Peninsula - which also boasts a marvelous waterfront setting in the shadow of the Rwenzori Mountains.  Elsewhere, the remote Ishasha Sector is famed for its tree-climbing lions, the Kyambura Gorge harbours habituated chimps, the Maramagambo Forest is home to an alluring selection of forest monkeys and birds, and flocks of flamingo are resident on the crater lakes.

The forest itself is lush and green and there are streams running through it. Check in at your lodge/ hotel / hostel/ Rest camp for an over night stay (B/L/D).
Bwindi National Park
A magnificent verdant swathe across the steep ridges of the Albertine Rift Valley, this ancient rainforest - one of the few in Africa to have flourished throughout the last Ice Age - is home to roughly half of the world's mountain gorillas. Looking deep into the expressive brown eyes of these gentle giants is surely the most exciting and poignant wildlife encounter that Africa has to offer - but we should not let it distract from Bwindi's broader biodiversity, a result of its immense antiquity and an altitude span from 1,160 to 2,607m.  The national park has 90 mammal species, including 11 primates, of which the black-and-white colobus, with its lovely flowing white tail, is prominent.  The forest birding ranks with the best in Uganda, with 23 highly localized Albertan Rift endemics present.

Day 18: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After breakfast set off early with your guides to track the gorillas. The thrill of your encounter will erase the difficulties of the potentially strenuous trek. Bring jungle boots and rain jackets because the park is often wet. Spend time in awe watching the gorillas go about their activities. Each encounter is different and has its own rewards, but you are likely to enjoy the close view of adults feeding, grooming and resting as the youngsters frolic and swing from vines in a delightfully playful display. The Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is a magnificent green swathe of dense rainforest, so ancient that survived the last ice age. A recently proclaimed world heritage site, its one of the most biologically diverse areas on earth and its unique, precious flora sustains roughly half of the world population of mountain gorillas – believed to number about 600. There is also a substantial chimpanzee population and research shows that Bwindi is the only forest in Africa in which these two apes live together. Return to camp exhilarated to relieve the encounter with friends over a drink. Overnight at your lodge/ hotel / hostel/ Rest camp for an over night stay (B/L/D).

Day 19: Bwindi National Park – Kabale (Lake Bunyonyi)
